Highlight of this post:Maxwell's 1st Birthday!

Hello friends and family! Our biggest event since the last time I blogged was Maxwell's 1st Birthday.  We celebrated by having a big party on the 25th with several family and friends then on his actual birthday we headed to Steak-N-Shake with some friends and he got to share Daddy's milkshake.  It's crazy a year has already passed.  He was born on June 30th weighing 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long.  He has certainly grown, but based on the growth charts at his year check up, he is between the 5th-10th percentile for his weight (meaning 90-95% of kids his age are bigger than him).  He's a little peanut! I looked back and Griffin, at this age was almost 2 pounds heavier than Max.  Max has such a personality, too.  He is still so sweet and smiles at anybody and everybody.  We get a lot of "ooo's" and "aahhh's" from other people.  :) He can throw a temper tantrum though and he has started to retaliate on his big bro, Griffin by hitting him every now and then.  Typically he's not mad when he does it, he's just trying to get his brothers attention, but big brother isn't sure what to think! Max has just started to take 3-4 steps at a time over the last few days and he is so very proud of himself.  He says, "Bob"---yes, you read that right, we have a neighbor Bob that Griffin is always on the lookout for.  Max has caught onto that and he says it now, too.  He also says, "no-no" and "hi." He hasn't swayed one way or another when it comes to being a momma's boy or daddy's boy.  He is way more cautious than Griffin ever was, but is getting braver.  He is definitely a keeper! With those big blue eyes and smile, how could he not be!

Griffin is starting to put words together and it's so much fun.  Nate and I have learned over the last couple of weeks we now have a 3rd parent in the house---Griffin.  He is always keeping watch over Max and telling him to come on or no.  That also goes for him telling our dog, Bailey what to do.  I think if Bailey could talk, she'd tell Griffin she was in our family first and has been around several years longer, but she just goes with the flow or hides under the bed from him.  Griffin calls Max, "Buggy." We are assuming we have called Max, "buddy" a lot, but Griffin has turned it into Buggy.  I'm afraid this may stick with Max for years to come! Griffin is a momma's boy 110%.  He has been for about the last 2 months.  He is glued to me ALL the time! If he isn't glued to me, I hear, "Mom go?" as he's looking for me.  I admit, I love it, but with this hot weather and being pregnant, I need a little space every now and then! :) He plays with my hair a lot or will rub my arm...a little charmer already! He is quite the fish...he LOVES swimming.  He still is his ornery self (shoudl I mention he pushed out a screen and climbed out a window a couple weeks ago---not on my watch, I may add! Ha! Nate was feeding Max and talking with a friend.  Griffin was in a different room and was playing on this swing.  Nate then heard Griffin saying, "uh oh" to which Nate walked into the room and saw Griffin had escaped.  He was laying on the screen outside! Our neighbors were outside...I can only imagine the entertainment we provide).  He also will point to my belly and say, "baby" and then lay his head down on my belly.

I will be 27 weeks in a few days with baby boy #3.  It's going a little too quickly! I'm feeling fine, other than hot and tired.  I'd say this has been my easiest pregnancy yet, praise God! We often wonder what this lil' guy is going to be like.

Nate and I just celebrated our 7th anniversary last month, as well. Over the weekend we went away for a night.  It was nice and relaxing, but I must admit, I missed our boys! I have to say the nicest thing was mealtime! We were able to eat hot food with no interruptions! It was amazing!

That's it in a nutshell! Until next time!
